TESSA
After three decades in the corporate world, Tessa rediscovered her love for ceramics. Manipulating clay, with a preference for the soft porcelain, serves as a form of meditation.
Tessa is self-taught by nature. Encouraged by a friend, she enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts (SABK) in Zottegem in 2021. Since then, she has been challenged by her teachers Sarah De Schepper and Sylvia Meert, under whose guidance she developed her own style.
Her art subtly parallels her work. As a business coach, Tessa challenges her clients to embrace their individuality. This is reflected in her refined sculptures, in which she translates the twists and turns of nature into sensual, organic forms that exude a restrained elegance.
Tessa combines various construction techniques and prefers to finish her creations with a distinctive texture to stimulate both the visual and tactile senses.
