TESSA
After three decades in the corporate world, Tessa rediscovered her love for ceramics. Manipulating clay, with a preference for pure porcelain, serves as a form of meditation.
By nature, Tessa tends to explore things independently through trial and error. However, encouraged by a friend, she enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts (SABK) in Zottegem in 2021. Since then, she has been challenged by her teachers Sarah De Schepper and Sylvia Meert, under whose guidance she developed her own style.
Her art subtly parallels her profession. As a corporate coach, Tessa challenges her clients to embrace their individuality and personality. This is reflected in her refined sculptures, in which she translates the twists and turns of nature into sensual, organic forms that exude a restrained elegance.
Tessa combines various construction techniques and loves to finish her creations with a distinctive texture to stimulate both the visual and tactile senses.
